What's On Offer...

We are an ILM, City and Guilds and OCN approved centre.

The following programmes are designed to encourage women to become involved at various levels.  The course structure takes into account experience and time commitments.  All courses are open to both employed and unemployed women.  For a list of currently scheduled course deliveries, check the Training Schedule.

This programme is being run in partnership with NILGA and Business in the Community. Further details to follow as the structure is being developed. If you are interested in being mentored by a local government councillor, MLA or someone in a decision making role, please contact the office and we will add you to the Mentoring and Shadowing programme list. Priority for placement will be given to those who have completed a Women into Politics' Political Leadership programme.

Community Relations skills and discussion workshops

These workshops are designed to combine practical skills training with group discussion.  The purpose of the workshops is to aid each participant to develop a personal sense of empowerment through political discussion and then to transform it into effectiveness in the exercise of citizenship in a community relations context.  Participants will share political ideas and their own experiences of politics, explore political differences and areas of common concern, and discuss the shape of the political, social, economic and cultural future of Northern Ireland.  The workshops are held in different locations across Northern Ireland and six border counities. A summary of the discussion is produced afterwards.

Politics 4 Youth
The Politics 4 Youth programme is designed to be engaging, interesting and relevant to the lives of young women across Northern Ireland.

The principle aims of the programme are to:

1)     Raise political awareness and understanding of decision making  processes.

2)     Promote politics (at all levels) as a career option for young women.

3)     Highlight the relevance of politics to the lives of young women.

4)     Increase the confidence of young women.
